All cakes made by Anita Tapp / Cakey McCakeface are subject to the following terms and conditions.

 

All of our ingredients are of the highest quality. Our fruitcakes usually contain nuts or traces of nuts or nut oil. Sponge, flavoured and chocolate cakes are made to be eaten on the day of celebration. The cakes are made in a premises in which nuts are used, every effort is taken to keep ingredients separate however cakes may contain traces of nuts or nut oil.

 

Please make us aware of any food allergies at the time of booking, and we will endeavour to work with these.

 

Some cake designs require additional structure. You will be informed at the time of delivery/collection of any non-edible structure within the cake. Please make the person cutting the cake aware of this.

 

Whilst we attempt to match colour request to swatches provided as closely as possible, due to the nature of sugar craft, an exact match may not be possible.

 

Sugar paste (the soft icing covering the cake) is not designed to be refrigerated and any such cake with this icing should be stored in a cool dry place out of direct sunlight, preferably in the box they were supplied in, refrigeration may cause colours to run.

 

To enable us to provide a quote, we will need several pieces of information that we will ask during the enquiry.  Occasionally we may need to do a little research before a quote can be completed.  In this situation we will give you a 'ball park figure', and provide you with the formal quote as soon as it is possible.  This quote is active for 30 days, and a new quote will be required if a deposit has not been made within this time.

 

 

We prefer three months notice on wedding cakes and one month's notice on celebration cakes, however we will accept short notice cake subject to availability of the date required. We would suggest booking your cake as soon as you know the date of celebration, even if the design is not yet chosen to avoid disappointment.

 

Any cake ordered from a picture or photo of the cake produced by any other cake maker, can only be with reproduced by Cakey McCakeface as our interpretation of that cake will not be an exact reproduction of the cake in the picture or photo.  The photo provided will be used only as inspiration.

 

 

We require a deposit upon placement of the order to secure the date, which is deducted from the final balance payable. Deposits are not refundable. Any availability enquiry does not constitute a booking. The required date will only be held upon receipt of a 50% deposit of the final balance when an order form will be provided.

 

It is your responsibility to check that the details on the order form are correct upon receipt, and notify us of any errors within 24 hours of receipt.

 

 

Wedding cakes. 50% of balance is payable three months prior to the wedding date, and final balance payment is due one month prior to the wedding date, at three months prior to the wedding date, if the cake design has not been confirmed, and therefore a quote has not been issued, then a deposit of £200 required.  If this transpires to be more than 50% of the total cost, the final balance will be the total cost less £200.

Celebration cakes.  Final balance payment is due one week before the delivery/ collection date.

Payments can be made by Cash, Bank Transfer & Paypal.

 

If your design includes fresh flowers, these need to be sourced and supplied by your florist.  We will gladly work with your florist in terms of the design, however we will attach the flowers to your cake.  We will accept no responsibility for any issues caused by an external supplier.

 

 

Wedding cakes. Deposits are non-refundable and non-transferable. Full payment of the cake balance is required if cancellation is within one month of the wedding date. 50% of the total cost is required if cancellation is within 3 to 1 months of the wedding date. All cancellations must be submitted in writing by registered post and it is the responsibility of the customer to ensure receipt of the cancellation. On receipt of the cancellation will be sent confirmation information of any amounts due at the cancellation date, these amounts must be paid within seven days of the confirmation letter, any unpaid balances will be pursued through the Small Claims Court and customers will be responsible for costs and expenses incurred in this process.

 

Celebration cakes. Deposits are non-refundable and non-transferable.  50% of the balance is payable to hold the date. The balances to be paid one week before collection/delivery, and full payment is due is a cancellation is less than one week from the arranged delivery/collection date. All terms and conditions apply as above in section wedding cakes.

 

 

Whilst our aim is to make a cake that you are completely happy with, we realize that disputes may occur.  We will immediately work to rectify the issue.  Any refund given to disputes regarding a cake or production of a design are completely at the discretion of  Cakey McCakeface and are not automatic. Full refunds will never be given to any cake which has been consumed regardless of dispute, as consumption of the cake is viewed as your acceptance that the cake is adequate for the purpose for which it has been supplied. Should there be a problem, you will contact us as soon as possible and make the cake available for inspection.  All cakes delivered to venues of photographs from different angles to show cake quality on delivery.  The cake will be handed over to the event organizer in your absence, who will be expected to sign the delivery hand over document.  We do not except any responsibility for loss or damage to the cake or items with the cake such as knives decorations and stands, once the cake has been delivered to a venue or collected from premises, or for loss, damage or non-delivery under unavoidable or exceptional circumstances. This in no way affects your statutory rights.

 

Cakes will be delivered and set up subject to availability and with prior agreement. Any arrangements for delivery may be subject to change however prior notice will be given where possible. Due to the nature of a tiered cake, we would always suggest that you employ us to deliver and set up the cake where and whenever possible.  Delivery is free within 5 miles of our premises.  Deliveries outside of this area and setting up are chargeable, and we should be notified at the time of booking.

Cakes are to be collected from our premises at a prearranged time and date only.  Please note, you will be required to sign a waiver when the cake leaves the premises, however we will provide suitable packaging and advice on the best method of transport.

 

 

We reserve the right to use any image of a cake made by Cakey McCakeface for publication at a later date .

 

Deposits are taken for all equipment. All equipment must be returned within three days of the wedding date (unless alternative arrangements have been agreed prior to the wedding in writing) or extra charges will be levied to cover higher costs. Any damages to equipment will incur a reduction of deposit returned in order to cover cost of repair or replacement.
